About
Hunter at Sunrise Returns!
Hunter Hughes, for years a popular mainstay on 93.7 The Coast and Bob-FM, now offers you and people all over the country and the world a chance to wake up to his eclectic sound on Sundays. Beginning March first, Hunter will host “Hunter at Sunrise” from 7am to 12 noon on WHRV- HD3 and radioNtenna, the WHRO progressive music international internet stream.
Hunter’s special blend of acoustic and eclectic music will be featured along with live artist performances and interviews. Hunter’s show will be produced live and spontaneously just as his fans have come to expect every Sunday morning.
Hunter’s show has generated an annual event every September in Norfolk’s Town Point Park, called the Sunrise to Sunset Acoustic Music Festival, featuring national, regional and local artists such as David Wilcox, Patty Larkin, Old Crow Medicine Show, Shawn Mullins, Sam Bush, Julie Clarke, Mike Aiken, Lewis McGehee, Narissa Bond, Stephen Bennett and Robbin Thompson.
Hunter says, “It’s music you can chill out to…but I also try to make each show an event, and that’s what separates what you’ll hear from everything else out there on commercial radio.”
Expect to hear blues, rock, soul, jazz, americana, world music, national and local indie singer-songwriters and so much more…all in a laid back and acoustic format.
The show, in addition to being streamed live, will also be available On Demand at WHRV.org and hunteratsunrise.com.
