4/12/2010–Wow, what a weekend I had…a great (and I mean great) concert by Ben Taylor and Julie Clark on Thursday, tons of performances throughout Ghent, an Emerging Artist Contest that was almost too hard to judge and the opening of the Waterside Listening Room. Thanks to Robbin Thompson for coming on the show Sunday and for a great show at the Listening Room…you can see an exerpt on the home page. MSG, Acoustic Blue Trio should be on the show this Sunday in advance of their Listening Room Gig…We are having just an incredible spring…

Stay tuned…

Take care,

Hunter

The nights are cool, the earth is getting greener and greener…the concert landscape is getting busier and busier…we now have the schedule for the Waterside Listening Room posted and more ticket giveaways this spring. The music on the show seems to be getting warmer and warmer too.

I’ll be returning to Out of the Box on WHRV this Saturday..I hope you will call in your support for Hunter At Sunrise and Public Radio…

3/8/2010–Well, I’m getting into the spirit a little early this year…I guess it’s because it seems like it has been a long, stormy winter. Hope you will join me this weekend when I have Irishman, John Spillane, on the show..he literally will warm up your March and put a smile on your face. Don’t forget to set your clocks forward this weekend…it’s daylight saving time again. We’ll have more tickets this Sunday…the concert season is starting…yes, Hampton Roads there is light at the end of the tunnel…

Take care,

It’s A New Month…

Posted by Hunter on March 1, 2010 at 8:55 am in

3/1/2010–Thanks to everyone who helped celebrate the Hunter At Sunrise 1st anniversary month and especially the Norva and the Sandler Center for tickets to give away during the festivities. I will have more tickets in the coming weeks. I have been apprised of some issues with the email process for winning the tickets which I hope to tackle in the days ahead.
I am also thankful that I finally got over my cold and felt reasonably good for Sunday’s show…Look for a special guest on Hunter At Sunrise as we approach St. Patrick’s Day…

All for now,

Hunter

Being Sick on Sunday…

Posted by Hunter on February 21, 2010 at 10:00 pm in

2/21/10–Obviously one of the biggest obstacles for an announcer is the proverbial head cold…unfortunately I had to get mine on the weekend..it makes for a tough show to do. It’s hard to concentrate when your head is clogged and there’s that nasal noise that comes from your voice. Sunday was not pretty but I made it through. Thanks to those of you who hung in there with me. Next Sunday, I promise I’ll have it a little better together.
Thanks to Caroline Herring for an incredible acoustic session and to Jim Morrison for making it happen. Hunter At Sunrise is so fortunate to have so many friends in the community that love music and support such great shows..Coming soon I’ll have a St. Patrick’s Day Special…

Stay Tuned…

Hunter

Some Thoughts on the 1st Year Anniversary…

Posted by Hunter on February 14, 2010 at 4:15 am in

2/14/10–It’s about 3:30 am and I am having trouble sleeping..so I thought I’d blog about the upcoming show…Somehow it does not feel like the 1st anniversary of anything really. This show just keeps going on and on, whether its called Sunrise on the Coast, Sunrise on Sunday, or Hunter At Sunrise, it remains such a blast to do. And I have been deeply blessed with some of the best listeners in the world who always seem to find the show wherever it is on the dial or on the computer…listeners who truly get the concept and come back every Sunday. To those of you who have followed the show through all the trials, tribulations, and changes, I take my hat off to you and salute. Thanks for hanging in there and for searching out Sunrise in all of it’s incarnations. And if you’re just tuning the show in for the first time today, the second year of Hunter At Sunrise is also dedicated to you…

Peace,

Hunter
