Mark Rogers was supposed to be on our show two weeks ago, but the tragedy in Virginia Beach got in the way. We're so happy he has been patient with us and now with a brand new record called Laying it Down released, he will pay another visit to Hunter At Sunrise this Sunday.  Mark not only performs solo but he now has an accomplished band backing him. If a huge snow storm doesn't hit, you can look for another great live acoustic session this Sunday morning.  Mark Rogers of Williamsburg will pay his first visit to Hunter At Sunrise.  Mark frequents many of the open mikes on the Peninsula and now is releasing a new EP called Rearranged. Lowland Hum has been one of the most prolific alt-acoustic acts in the country in the last two years. Earlier this year they released their fourth album, Glyphonic, the follow up to the critically acclaimed, Thin.  We were so pleased to have them on the show the week of that 2017 release and now we're so glad to welcome them back. Lowland Hum is the project of  husband-wife team, Daniel and Lauren Goans. They are originally from North Carolina but are now based in Charlottesville.  They are big supporters of "Quiet Music". After this weekend's show, we think you will be too. Maybe you've heard their new album Turn Styles on Hunter At Sunrise...now Nova Scotia's Naming the Twins plays a live acoustic session on Hunter At Sunrise this Sunday.  Naming the Twins is the harmonizing couple of Robbie Smith and Kathleen Glauser and are here to play an intimate show at the Victorian Station in Phoebus this Saturday. Hunter At Sunrise is always in discovery mode with an eye to introducing new and emerging artists to Hampton Roads. This Sunday is no different as we welcome for the first time Emily Gaines to the show.  Emily, who is only 18,  is from Mathews County, Va. A resident now of West Point, she's been writing and playing music ever since she was 10.  Hope you can join us for this very special live acoustic session this Sunday morning. 

Hunter At Sunrise is Happy to Welcome Back Kevin Blatnik with Mike Glass This Sunday Morning

Kevin Blatnik returns to our program Sunday and he is bringing along longtime friend Michael Glass for a live acoustic session. If you frequent venues on the Peninsula, you have probably seen them together playing both original and cover tunes. Kevin, who works at the Newport News Shipyard, has honed his skills performing at many of the open mikes in the area. Joining him on just about every occasion, is Michael Glass, formerly of the band the Delvers and a veteran music teacher.  Hope you can join us for this very special acoustic session this Sunday morning. 

Hunter At Sunrise Goes On The Road To Showcase 3 Of the Area's Greatest Artists This Sunday

Yay usYes, Tuesday, Jan. 31st, 2017, will go down as a one of the great dates in local music history as three of the finest singer/songwriters in the area performed for a very cool audience at the Steel Pier Cafe in Va. Beach.  Lewis McGehee, Chuck Larson and Karl Werne had never been on the same stage together, yet there they were to share their music and we were right there with them.  In addition to a rousing in the round show that we were able to show live on Facebook, we also were able to sit down with all three for a memorable acoustic session.  We will play that back for you this Sunday morning.  Hope you can join us for this very special Hunter At Sunrise this weekend. 

Long Time Hampton Roads Singer-Songwriter Amy Ferebee Returns to Hunter At Sunrise This Sunday

For many years, Amy Ferebee has been a steady force in the Hampton Roads Singer-Songwriter scene. She's been a longtime supporter of acoustic music here in the area and an educator in the field of music.   Now she is being recognized for her contributions and work as she takes center stage Feb. 2nd at the Zeiders American Dream Theatre,  where she will be featured in the Songwriters Live at the Z! series. It has been a good while since Amy has been on Hunter At Sunrise and it will certainly be good to have her back on the show again this Sunday morning...for more about Amy Ferebee, click HERE. 

Logan Vath Returns to Hunter At Sunrise

When last we talked with Logan Vath, he was leaving town for good headed to Colorado. But now he is back for a visit and he will be our guest on Hunter At Sunrise this Sunday. He has been touring behind his 2016 release In the Presence of the Kingdom  and has been featured on an album honoring veterans.  We have a lot of catching up to do.
