Emily Gaines
Hunter At Sunrise is always in discovery mode with an eye to introducing new and emerging artists to Hampton Roads. This Sunday is no different as we welcome for the first time Emily Gaines to the show.  Emily, who is only 18,  is from Mathews County, Va. A resident now of West Point, she's been writing and playing music ever since she was 10.  Hope you can join us for this very special live acoustic session this Sunday morning.

Kevin Blatnik returns to our program Sunday and he is bringing along longtime friend Michael Glass for a live acoustic session. If you frequent venues on the Peninsula, you have probably seen them together playing both original and cover tunes. Kevin, who works at the Newport News Shipyard, has honed his skills performing at many of the open mikes in the area. Joining him on just about every occasion, is Michael Glass, formerly of the band the Delvers and a veteran music teacher.  Hope you can join us for this very special acoustic session this Sunday morning.

Hunter At Sunrise Goes On The Road To Showcase 3 Of the Area's Greatest Artists This Sunday

Yay usYes, Tuesday, Jan. 31st, 2017, will go down as a one of the great dates in local music history as three of the finest singer/songwriters in the area performed for a very cool audience at the Steel Pier Cafe in Va. Beach.  Lewis McGehee, Chuck Larson and Karl Werne had never been on the same stage together, yet there they were to share their music and we were right there with them.  In addition to a rousing in the round show that we were able to show live on Facebook, we also were able to sit down with all three for a memorable acoustic session.  We will play that back for you this Sunday morning.  Hope you can join us for this very special Hunter At Sunrise this weekend.

Long Time Hampton Roads Singer-Songwriter Amy Ferebee Returns to Hunter At Sunrise This Sunday

amy ferebee
For many years, Amy Ferebee has been a steady force in the Hampton Roads Singer-Songwriter scene. She's been a longtime supporter of acoustic music here in the area and an educator in the field of music.   Now she is being recognized for her contributions and work as she takes center stage Feb. 2nd at the Zeiders American Dream Theatre,  where she will be featured in the Songwriters Live at the Z! series. It has been a good while since Amy has been on Hunter At Sunrise and it will certainly be good to have her back on the show again this Sunday morning...for more about Amy Ferebee, click HERE.

Thanks for the Nomination!

Full Cover 1I want to thank the Veer Awards nominating panel for once again recognizing Hunter At Sunrise with a nomination for a local music award. Every year of the awards, we have been nominated which I think speaks to our ongoing dedication to the local music scene. Hunter At Sunrise will continue to present quality local music and local live acoustic sessions as part of its programming. It's been a tradition of the show since the program was Sunrise on Sunday on Bob FM and Sunrise on the Coast. Congratulations to all those nominated! I hope you too will support local music and vote in the VEER Music Awards. Here's a link to the ballot...The VEER Music Awards Ballot
