Our first guests in the New Year are a duo from Va. Beach.  Fox and the Bear is made up of two sisters, Jamie and Jeena Anderson, who are multi-instrumentalists as well as singer-songwriters.  The pair already have an Indie-alternative EP to their credit and are working on a full length album. They will also be featured soon in the Out of the Box series at the Sandler Center. Hunter At Sunrise takes a little break this weekend

fox and the bear 2First of all, congratulations to Fox and the Bear for their VEER local music award win this week in the Americana category.  It just so happens that we will be re-airing our show from January that featured them this Sunday.   Fox and the Bear is made up of two sisters, Jamie and Jeena Anderson, who are multi-instrumentalists as well as singer-songwriters.  We will return to live shows the following Sunday when Larry Berwald & Friends will pay us a visit. Hunter At Sunrise celebrates the holidays with Amy Gerhartz this Sunday morning.

It's our last live show of 2018 and what better way to celebrate it than with a visit from a former guest who has moved on to be a professional singer-songwriter in Nashville. It has been ages, since Amy Gerhartz has been on our program. In her initial appearances, she was residing in Portsmouth and Northern Virginia. Now she lives and records in Nashville and has produced several albums. The latest called Hold On will be released in 2019. So to say we have a lot of catching up to do would be an understatement.  So we hope you will join us as Amy Gerhartz returns to Hunter At Sunrise this Sunday. Chesapeake's Madison Warner is in the holiday spirit and will be our guest this Sunday morning

Hunter At Sunrise continues its live shows leading up to Christmas with a holiday show featuring Madison Warner. This will be the second visit for  Madison, the first being right after the release of her full length album, Over Sea and Border. Now she has produced a new original Christmas song which will be a part of her live acoustic session this Sunday. This will be the third appearance for The Last Bison on Hunter At Sunrise this Sunday. The last time they were on the show, we actually went to them at their home in Chesapeake for an acoustic session. Then they were an ensemble with a number of members. The area's ambassador of the blues, Bobby Blackhat Walters, returns to Hunter At Sunrise this holiday weekend

Fresh off his newest release, Put on your Red Shoes,  Bobby Blackhat Walters, pays another visit to Hunter At Sunrise this Sunday.  Originally from Cleveland, Bobby's been a blues harp playerfor over 40 years opening for and playing with artists like BB King, Taj Mahal and Bob Margolin. He's established himself as one of the staunchest supporters of the blues genre in Hampton Roads as well as a mentor to young aspiring artists. Independent Singer/Songwriters Susan Werner and Eric Schwartz return to Hunter At Sunrise this Sunday

Susan werner 2If all goes well, we'll have a visit this Sunday from two dynamic independent, alt-folk artists, Susan Werner and Eric Schwartz.  Both are in town to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Harris Creek Acoustic House concert series in Hampton.  Originally from Iowa, Susan has 13 records to her credit including her latest, An American in Havana from last year. She's also an accomplished guitarist and pianist. Eric is not only a singer/songwriter but also a multi- Instrumentalist and satirist. He has composed eric 2for and performed in various satirista shows in his long career.  Hope you can join us for this very special acoustic session this Sunday as Susan Werner and Eric Schwartz return to Hunter At Sunrise.
