Hunter At Sunrise welcomes Norfolk's House of Cards to the show this Sunday for the first time

House of Cards will be in OUR house this Sunday morning. The Americana/Folk band from Norfolk is comprised of Cheryl Starr, Drew Landman, Jay Sanchez and Kate Landman. They've been performing here in the area for the last few years and now they're releasing their very first self-titled EP. We're always excited when we have new guests with new music on the show, so we hope you will join us this Sunday as House of Cards visits Hunter At Sunrise for the first time.

The last time Ben Phelps was on our show, he had just released a solo disc called Goodbye Summer.  Now he returns as his band, the Ben Phelps Project, gears up for the release of their new album,  Wake Up the Guards. It's been a long way from the band's first full length release Vision and Sound  in 2006. Anthony Rosano is once again our guest on Hunter At Sunrise this coming Sunday

No doubt by now you've at least heard of Anthony Rosano and the Conqueroos...the rocking blues band from Norfolk.  They are playing all manner of shows here in the area, both electric and acoustic, and walking away with many local acalades. For instance,  they are nominated once again in this year's VEER local music awards which will be announced in February. Well this Sunday, the man who started it all will be our guest for a live acoustic session. It's been awhile since Anthony Rosano has been on the show and it will be good to catch up on what he's been up to. Portsmouth's Court Street Company pays its first visit to Hunter At Sunrise this Sunday morning

Court Street Company has a lot going on.  They have a new cd scheduled for release in March, a big show coming up at the Norva and a few nominations in the upcoming VEER Local Music Awards. Not bad for a relatively new band from Portsmouth. Comprised of Allen Hudson, Jonah Grinkewitz,  Tim Singer,  and Kyle Pearson, this will be Court Street Company's first visit to Hunter At Sunrise. Karl Werne is back on Hunter At Sunrise this Sunday and he is bringing some friends

Karl Werne is our guest this Sunday and he says he has some new songs in tow. He also is bringing some collaborators from his Open Mike he runs in Va. Beach. Karl, who lives in Norfolk, has been on the show many times and always brings a lot of energy to the program with his incredible guitarwork. He has two discs to his credit, This Little Notebook and Karl Werne and Friends at Hampton Bay Days. Va. Beach's Fox and the Bear leads off our 2019 acoustic sessions this Sunday morning

Our first guests in the New Year are a duo from Va. Beach.  Fox and the Bear is made up of two sisters, Jamie and Jeena Anderson, who are multi-instrumentalists as well as singer-songwriters.  The pair already have an Indie-alternative EP to their credit and are working on a full length album. They will also be featured soon in the Out of the Box series at the Sandler Center. fox and the bear 2First of all, congratulations to Fox and the Bear for their VEER local music award win this week in the Americana category.  It just so happens that we will be re-airing our show from January that featured them this Sunday.   Fox and the Bear is made up of two sisters, Jamie and Jeena Anderson, who are multi-instrumentalists as well as singer-songwriters.  We will return to live shows the following Sunday when Larry Berwald & Friends will pay us a visit. Hunter At Sunrise celebrates the holidays with Amy Gerhartz this Sunday morning.

It's our last live show of 2018 and what better way to celebrate it than with a visit from a former guest who has moved on to be a professional singer-songwriter in Nashville. It has been ages, since Amy Gerhartz has been on our program. In her initial appearances, she was residing in Portsmouth and Northern Virginia. Now she lives and records in Nashville and has produced several albums. The latest called Hold On will be released in 2019. So to say we have a lot of catching up to do would be an understatement.  So we hope you will join us as Amy Gerhartz returns to Hunter At Sunrise this Sunday.
