Just like Annie Johnson from a couple of weeks ago, it has indeed been a long time since Jesse Chong has visited our show.  Now this Sunday, as he releases  his new album with the Chong Band, Jesse Chong will be live on the program once again. Jesse is an incredible singer songwriter who has graced the stage of many a venue here in the area. His unique style of guitar playing has garnered him a huge fan base. Who Will Be Our Next Guest on Hunter At Sunrise?

We're asking because we just don't know.  What we can tell you is our next guest will be the winner of the singer/songwriter contest being held this week at Victorian Station in Phoebus. That person will not only be on our show this Sunday but will also claim a spot in the line up of the Aiken and Friends Festival being held in Smithfield later this month.  So we have a little mystery surrounding our acoustic session this Sunday...hope you can tune in and find out who it is.  

Hunter At Sunrise Goes Totally Americana When Chapel Hill's Mipso Pays a Visit This Sunday

Fresh off the release of a brand new record....the Americana band, Mipso, pays its first visit to Hunter At Sunrise this Sunday morning. The four piece ensemble from Chapel Hill  is out on tour of West Virginia and Virginia in support of its April release, Coming Down the Mountain,  which is garnering rave reviews. In town for a house concert at the North Shore Point House Concert Series in Norfolk, we got to sit down with the band for a cool acoustic session. We even found out the origin of their unusual name. It's been almost three years since they released their disc, Read This If I Don't Make It Home, and we understand they are working on a new one.
